The Galactic Cookie is helping me to make some cob (mixture of straw, clay and sand)
Cuando abrí uno de los registros, el humo fluyó pesadamente al piso. Supongo que el cob mojado nunca permitió que se calentaran los ductos. El cob húmedo le robó todo el calor a los gases de combustión, impidiendo que se formara un tiro y que ascendieran por la chimenea.
Usamos el "método de la lona", pues hoy no necesitaremos una gran cantidad de cob.
We used the "tarp method", since we won´t need much cob today.
Alcanzamos a cubrir una parte de los tubos intercambiadores de calor

E inmediatamente prendimos fuego para secar más rápidamente el adobe (cob). El tiro no funcionó en absoluto. El humo se regresó por los ductos y volvió a ahumar la casa.
We turned on a fire to dry the adobe (cob). The draft did not work at all. The smoke came back from the pipes and smoked the house again.
El humo era muy frío y denso. Subía con extrema dificultad y apenas lograba escapar una pequeña porción por la chimenea.
The smoke was cold and dense. It hardly climbed and only a small portion went through the chimney.

When I opened one of the registers, the smoke flowed heavily down to the floor. I guess that the wet cob never allowed the ducts to heat up. The damp cob stole all the heat to the combustion gases, preventing a draft and the gases to climb.
