Kika y yo hicimos un maravilloso viaje por el sur de Perú. Encontramos interesantísimas construcciones de tierra. Aquí la zona arqueológica de Nazca:
Kika and myself did a wonderful trip to Southern Peru. We found very interesting earthen buildings. Here the archeological site in Nazca:
Muy cerca de Nazca, los increíbles acueductos subterráneos de Cantalloc. Llevan el agua por túneles subterráneos para evitar su evaporación y mantenerla fresca. Cada ciertos metros hay estos caracoles a modo de claraboyas o registros. ¡hechos únicamente de piedras apiladas! ¡qué gran talento constructor!
Very close to Nazca, the incredible under-earth waterways of Cantalloc. Water is lead through underground channels to avoid evaporation and to keep it fresh. Each certain distance these snails form skylights or registers to give access to the channels. Only stacked stones! What a talent to build!
En Chalhuanca nos encontramos esta maravillosa torre de campanario, hecha totalmente de adobe. Más de 20 metros de altura!!!
In Chalhuanca we found this marvelous bell tower, built entirely of adobe. More than 65 feet tall!!!
El campanero muy amable me dejó entrar y explorar la estructura. En el campanario había... ¡campanas!

Debido a que en esa zona peruana las lluvias son extremadamente escasas, la cubierta es muy sencilla: carrizos.
Since this Peruvian area does very seldomly see rain, the rooftop is very simple: reeds.
Muy interesantes los dinteles en forma de arco. Nótese que el arco o la bóveda se forma con una hilada de adobes. ¡Haberlo sabido antes!
The arched lintels are very interesting. Note the arch or vault conformed with a line of adobe bricks. I wish I had known before!
La vista desde el campanario de adobe permite ver casas aledañas de ... adobe! ¡El paraíso!
The view from the adobe bell tower allows to see the neighbouring houses built with... adobe! Paradise!
Y en la misma localidad, muchas casas son de ... adobe!
And most of the buildings of this community are from ... adobe!

Nos perdimos entre Cusco y Ollantaytambo intentando encontrar el camino. En su lugar, encontramos esta señorial construcción:

En Ollantaytambo nos asombró la magnífica muralla alrededor del Templo del Sol:

Estos enormes bastiones están hechos también de adobe. Nótese cómo se coronan con piedras para prevenir el deslave con las poco frecuentes lluvias:

Durante el recorrido, nos encontramos con un grupo de turistas polacos visitiendo los trajes típicos de la región. ¡nos encantó el detalle!
During the tour, we met a Polish tourist group wearing the local gala dresses. We loved the approach!!!
